COTTON’S 2024 YEAR IN REVIEW
2024 was a powerful year for the Cotton Companies. It was a time filled with critical milestones, exciting expansion, impactful disaster response and a demonstration of our team’s unstoppable determination. Cotton continued to grow into the unsurpassed total solutions provider for our clients and communities, providing emergency services and day-to-day excellence.
Key Cotton Moments in 2024
Looking back on these standout moments from 2024 shows the key progress and success we achieved as we drive boldly forward into 2025 and beyond.
Cotton Expanded with 24 Restore
To kick off the year, Cotton announced the strategic acquisition of 24 Restore, a comprehensive provider of full-service restoration services to properties across New England. The alliance grew Cotton’s geographic reach and expanded support to those in the Northeast, while 24 Restore’s services were bolstered by Cotton’s depth of resources.
24 Restore’s commitment to community support, 24/7 response and high-quality results aligned the company strongly with Cotton’s core values and mission.
Cotton Teams Responded to Daily and Disaster Needs
Throughout the year, the Cotton Companies powered solutions for our clients and took on over 4,000 projects, helping communities with both daily needs and disaster response. Our projects allowed us to share some of our many turnkey services, including reconstruction, event catering, temporary facilities, odor removal, biohazard cleanup and much more.
Cotton also rose to the challenge in emergency response situations. We responded to 13 natural disasters, including the historic flooding in North Carolina from Hurricane Helene, the sudden wind damage from the unexpected derecho that slammed Houston and the devastating effects of wildfires burning acres across New Mexico. We were there when our clients needed us most, ensuring we provided needed solutions.
Cotton Positively Impacted Our Communities
Cotton strives to leave a lasting impact in the communities where we live and work. In a major initiative, following the devastation of Hurricane Helene, Cotton CommUNITY — focused on giving back to families affected by disaster — and Cotton Foundation — a foundation committed to restoring hope to children and families affected by illnesses or catastrophes — held “Healing After Helene” to distribute 3,000 cases of water and 1,000 meals to North Carolina. The relief effort provided critical resources to a community ravaged by the storm.
Cotton Foundation gave back to communities in other ways as well, delivering turkeys to families in need at Thanksgiving and partnering with the Houston Rockets to support those affected by the destruction of Hurricane Beryl.
Cotton Celebrated a Golden Milestone with the Houston Rodeo
Cotton returned as the Title Sponsor of the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest (WCBBQC) for the third year in a row in our continuing partnership with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The cook-off contest kicks off the rodeo season as teams compete for recognition and champion titles in various food categories, including Brisket and Dutch Oven Dessert. 2024 marked the 50th anniversary of the WCBBQC.
In addition to sponsoring the event, Cotton hosted guests at the exclusive Cotton ‘Q Club, treating visitors to high-end entertainment, a customized cocktail menu and mouthwatering dishes prepared by the Cotton Culinary team. Cotton was sure to commemorate the historic anniversary year with golden touches in the luxurious “tent” at the contest.
CrawFest 2024 Reached a Boiling Point
The Cotton Foundation hosted the annual CrawFest 2024, where Cotton Culinary served over 5,000 pounds crawfish and other Cajun delights, including jambalaya and bread pudding. Guests enjoyed music, games and good food all to support a charitable cause. The fundraising event helped collect over $150,000 for Taylor’s Place, a private sanctuary for families facing serious illnesses.
Cotton Restored the Rivalry with the Lone Star Showdown
In a landmark partnership, Cotton became the title sponsor of the historic Lone Star Showdown college sports rivalry between Texas A&M University and the University of Texas at Austin. Cotton title sponsored all head-to-head game in both Austin and College Station as a proud partner of Texas A&M Athletics and University of Texas Athletics. This legendary rivalry included the monumental return of the A&M vs UT football matchup, the first since 2011.
We were honored to restore the rivalry and bring back such an iconic Texas tradition with Cotton’s energy. Whether in basketball, volleyball or on the gridiron of Kyle Field or Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, Cotton is excited to fuel such an impactful partnership and contribute to our communities in dynamic ways.
