COTTON HOLDINGS CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF THE WORLD’S CHAMPIONSHIP BAR-B-QUE CONTEST WITH GOLD GRANDEUR
Cotton ‘Q Club Celebrates with Gilded Décor, Award-Winning Barbecue, Celebrity Champagne and Famed Country Concerts
HOUSTON (February 15, 2024) – Cotton Holdings, Inc., a leading disaster and infrastructure support services company headquartered in Houston, in partnership with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™, is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest from Thursday, February 22 – Saturday, February 24, 2024. Not only will the more than 10,000-square-foot cedar-framed Cotton ‘Q Club “tent” showcase golden roses throughout to commemorate the celebratory year, but, as Title Sponsor of the weekend-long event, Cotton Holdings also plans to celebrate this anniversary with an iconic country music lineup, celebrity champagne partnership and customized caviar bar for the Gold Pony Lounge.
“It’s important for our Cotton family to recognize everything that the Rodeo and the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest have done over the past 50 years,” said Pete Bell, co-founder and CEO of Cotton Holdings, Inc. “We are not only excited for the organization to reach this milestone anniversary, but our partners have worked for months with both the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and Bar-B-Que Contest teams to ensure that this year is the best one yet. We look forward to celebrating and cannot wait to see what the next 50 years bring.”
This year’s tent design will include gold touches throughout to signify the 50th anniversary of the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest. In addition to thousands of gold roses inside the tent and draped over 7-foot-tall mosaic horses, the Cotton ‘Q Club will also offer gold-themed cocktails, including a Golden Mule, The Gold Standard and a Gold Fashioned. The space will be blanketed by navy velvet ceiling paneling, custom-made tartan flooring, antler and crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, antique mirrors, saddles and mounted taxidermy from Cotton Holdings CEO Pete Bell’s ranch.
Headlining this year’s opening night is a performance by country music legends Big & Rich with Gretchen Wilson, with up-and-coming artist William Beckmann to kick off the evening. In addition to the famed country band famous for “Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy,” Cotton Holdings has partnered with award-winning musician, entrepreneur, actor and producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson to serve his Le Chemin Du Roi Brut Champagne to guests in the Gold Pony Lounge as well as Kaluga Huso Hybrid Caviar provided by CIEL Restaurant & Lounge.
