Cotton Holdings, Inc. is honored to serve as the title sponsor of the legendary Lone Star Showdown rivalry series for the third consecutive year. Cotton is also a proud corporate sponsor of Texas A&M Athletics and Texas Athletics. The Lone Star Showdown first entered the public consciousness in 1894 when the two schools clashed on the football field and, since then, this rivalry has grown to encompass every matchup between the schools, regardless of the sport.

However, when A&M joined the SEC in 2011, the chance to meet on the field disappeared, leaving a gap in the hearts of fans not just in Texas but across the nation. In 2024, all of that changed when Cotton restored the rivalry after more than a decade!

For the 2026-2027 season, Cotton Holdings will continue to title sponsor all contests between the two schools in every head-to-head sport in both Austin and College Station. Additionally, Cotton will sponsor the year-long scoring system tracking the results of up to 19 sports to determine which school wins the annual Lone Star Showdown rivalry series trophy and bragging rights for an entire year. In those sports without head-to-head competitions, rivalry series points will be awarded based on which team finishes higher in the final standings of the respective NCAA Championships. The 121st meeting on the gridiron will be hosted in College Station on November 27, 2026.
