Since the Lone Star Showdown returned in 2024, the two schools have each earned a win. Two years ago, the University of Texas took home the trophy to kick off the restored rivalry. In 2025, Texas A&M regained the crown, tying the score. Now, in this 2026-2027 season, the Aggies and the Longhorns have unfinished business as both schools fight to break the tie, leave a legacy and defend the Lone Star Showdown trophy.
