
Alex Santos joined Cotton Holdings in 2024 as Executive Vice President of Finance Operations. With more than 23 years of experience in manufacturing, banking, insurance, and services, Santos oversees financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic goals. He provides executive-level financial insights to support decision-making, identifies opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth and safeguards the company’s financial health and integrity.
Before joining Cotton Holdings, Santos served as global controller for Mattr Corp. (formerly Shawcor Ltd.) and as Vice President of Finance at Critica Infrastructure (Henkel), where he developed critical leadership and operational skills.
A native of Lisbon, Portugal, Santos lived in London for 11 years and Belo Horizonte, Brazil for one year before making Houston his home for the past nine years. He relocated abroad at a young age, adapting quickly to new cultures and business environments while developing a global perspective. Throughout his career, he has successfully led multiple organizations through strategic leadership and financial expertise.
Santos earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting in Portugal and an Executive MBA from Cass Business School in London.
