As I sit here and reflect on the past 26 years, I’m amazed at how far we’ve come. When Daryn and I set out to launch this company, we never imagined that it would become the global turnkey solutions provider that it is today. But I’m not surprised.

From the beginning, we assembled a team of hard-working, talented people that never backed down from a challenge. Together, we’ve created a culture that puts our clients’ needs first and one that excludes the word “no” from our vocabulary. In fact, if there’s one thing that clients have learned to expect from Cotton is that we will always find a solution, even if it means achieving the impossible.

I think the first time we proved this to be true was in 2001 when Tropical Storm Allison inundated our hometown. That was the first storm that put Cotton on the map. We had to scale the company overnight and worked 30 days straight to restore essential businesses in Houston. It’s also the year we introduced our construction services because we understood that our clients would need a reliable partner to fully rebuild their facilities. I knew then that, with this team, we could take this same approach and help other communities in need.

We then put our rapid deployment model into play by helping other countries and states following tragic events, such as the 2005 mudslide in Jamaica, Hurricane Wilma in Cancun, and Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Soon enough we were deploying all over the Gulf Coast, East Coast, West Coast, Baja California Sur, and the Caribbean.

Fast-forward to 2012, after the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico we knew we had to do something to support the recovery efforts. We confidently marched into uncharted waters and began our Logistics services. Today, Cotton Logistics provides temporary assets, catering, and environmental response services and has also supported government agencies as a registered contract holder of the General Services Administration. Following in its footsteps stands Cotton Culinary, which was launched in 2014 to further minimize business interruption for our clients. All of these forces combined have made Cotton instrumental in the recovery and restoration efforts stemming from the world’s most damaging catastrophes.

Now, 26 years later, I’m proud to say that our family keeps growing. In the past couple of years, we’ve acquired four new partners: Stellar Commercial Roofing, Full Circle Restoration, Advance Catastrophe Technologies, and Target Solutions.

It takes a village to create the kind of company we have and I'm grateful to each and every one of you who has helped us get here. Our partners, clients, and team – all of you have played a part in Cotton’s history and I’m confident that you will continue to move us forward. Thank you for trusting us and supporting us through every milestone. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us.
