The countdown is on. In just a few days, the Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown returns, bringing back one of the most anticipated rivalry matchups in Texas: the Longhorns vs the Aggies! Our tailgate is the ultimate pre-game experience, and this year’s event promises elevated hospitality, exclusive experiences and the unmatched energy of game day in Austin.

What to Expect at the Cotton Tailgate
This isn’t your average tailgate. It’s a curated experience designed to bring people together and celebrate the spirit of the Lone Star State.
- Tailgate Check-In
- Upon arrival, stop by the check-in tent where our team will verify your registration. You’ll receive a wristband giving you full access to the tailgate and all of its offerings.
- Exclusive Lucchese Bootmaker Pop-Up
- Lucchese will be on-site with a limited-edition pop-up store, featuring handcrafted boots, apparel and accessories that embody iconic Texas style. Whether you're browsing or buying, it’s an experience you won’t want to miss.
- Game-Watch Experience at the Tailgate
- Not headed into the stadium? Join the official Cotton watch party. We’ll have screens, sound and plenty of excitement to keep the energy high from kickoff to the final whistle.
- Going Into the Stadium?
- If you are planning to cheer from the stands at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium, we’ve got you covered. Review the official UT Football Fan Guide for stadium entry details, bag policies, seating info and more to ensure a smooth game-day experience.
Transportation Tips
Guest drop-off is located at the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History parking lot.
If you’re driving, please allow extra time to locate parking on or near campus.
Paid parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. (Note: Pre-paid parking is no longer available for the 2025 season.)
The University of Texas recommends the Texas Facilities Commission parking lots for event parking.
Metered parking is also available throughout the surrounding areas via the City of Austin.
