Since joining Cotton in 1998, James Scaife has played a pivotal role in guiding businesses across the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean through recovery and rebuilding efforts following some of the most catastrophic events in recent history.

In 2018, James was named President of Cotton Global Disaster Solutions, where he oversaw large-scale response operations and service delivery on a global stage. In 2025, he was appointed Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Cotton Holdings. In this role, James is responsible for optimizing day-to-day operations across the enterprise, driving operational efficiencies and aligning business strategies with long-term growth objectives. He works closely with the executive leadership team to expand Cotton’s market presence, enhance client satisfaction and ensure the seamless execution of services across all divisions.

Throughout his career, James has spearheaded critical remediation and reconstruction projects in response to major disasters including Tropical Storm Allison, Hurricane Katrina, the Avian Influenza Outbreak, Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Dorian. His deep expertise with more than 20 years of experience, proactive problem-solving and ability to mobilize large-scale teams have earned him a reputation as a trusted leader in disaster recovery and business continuity.
