Adam Dempsey joined Cotton Holdings in 2023 and currently serves as General Counsel. With 7 years of experience, he oversees critical legal functions, including contract management, litigation and insurance. He ensures the legal team supports operations by identifying and mitigating material risks, facilitating collections on problematic accounts receivables and safeguarding the company in litigation. Dempsey’s strengths lie in cross-departmental collaboration, driving strategic legal initiatives and creatively negotiating business arrangements to achieve commercially favorable outcomes. At Cotton, he had been involved in relief efforts for major storms, including Hurricane Otis in Mexico, Beryl, Helene and Milton.
Before joining Cotton Holdings, Dempsey served as Associate and Counsel at Bracewell LLP, Senior Counsel at Marathon Oil Company and Assistant General Counsel at Hilcorp Energy Company.
Originally from Nassau Bay, Texas, Dempsey now lives in Houston with his wife and three kids. He holds a Bachelor in Business Administration and Master of Accountancy from Baylor University and a Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law Houston. Dempsey is licensed with the State Bar of Texas, and he is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
