Cotton Delivers Showstopping Presence to the 2026 World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest

For the fifth year, Cotton Holdings brought a showstopping presence to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest (WCBBQC) and other rodeo kick-off events.

A Stunning Spectacle at the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest

At the WCBBQC, Cotton created top-tier experiences throughout the three nights inside the company’s signature Cotton ‘Q Club. The event provided the organization with opportunities to strengthen client relationships and deepen its commitment to local, meaningful initiatives. Funds raised by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and its barbecue contest help support education through scholarships and promote the success of the agricultural industry.

The Cotton ‘Q Club was a spectacle itself, standing tall as an approximately 10,000-square-foot “tent” created through a collaboration between Cotton Holdings and Quanta Services. With thousands of red roses, framed trophy mounts and barnwood interwoven with elegant velvet, the venue’s style could be described as, to quote Cotton Chief Marketing Officer Zinat Ahmed, “a little bit of Ralph Lauren, a little bit of Kentucky Derby and a lot of Texas.”

Decorative rose-covered ponies and shimmering chandeliers hung from the cavernous drape-dressed ceiling above the tartan-patterned floor. The focal point of the venue, an attention-grabbing stage and dancefloor, hosted energetic performances from Gabby Barrett, Sammy Kershaw, Josh Turner and Braxton Keith. When not dancing the night away, guests could enjoy refreshments and standard-setting fare that kept the party going. A 50-foot bar served specialty cocktails crafted for the event, while Cotton Culinary provided exceptional meals that delighted guests.

Buzzworthy drinks in the main tent featured sips from Whistlepig Whiskey, Dripping Springs Vodka, Simple Spirits, Constellation Brands and Republic National Distributing Company. Each night also featured a themed menu crafted by the Culinary team, ranging from a grilled ribeye, rodeo-inspired tacos and a Texan barbecue feast.

The standout tastes were for more than just the ‘Q Club guests; the team also participated in the contest itself and placed fourth overall out of 250 teams. Official event judges shared the guests’ enthusiasm for the culinary offerings. The win was a testament to the creativity, success and dedication to excellence of the Cotton team.

The excitement continued into the ultra-luxury, VVIP speakeasy of the ‘Q Club, The Gold Pony Lounge. There, important Houston figures, industry leaders, celebrity athletes and more rubbed elbows in an opulent parlor of networking and elite experiences.

As guests entered the Gold Pony Lounge, they were greeted by a bespoke martini bar, The Stirrup by Sophie. Customized martinis were made to order and crafted to dazzle. Drinks inside the Gold Pony also featured a new partnership with Casa Dragones among other top-tier libations. Some of the nights included surprise lounge visits from 1932 Cattlemen’s Club and Houston-born rapper and entrepreneur Bernard “Bun B” Freeman and his crowd-pleasing Trill Burgers.
