Director of Production

Katy, TX

Provide management and oversee all construction operations, to include asset management, project management, management of project managers and supervisors.

Position requirements and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Construction Project Managers to ensure the correct management is on the projects
  • Adhere to all construction protocol, project policies, procedures, etc
  • Ensure the safety, service, and quality on all Cotton projects is at the highest standard. Coach and act as mentor to your team and to teach all aspects of running projects and customer satisfaction
  • Control cost on all construction related projects on a day-to-day basis
  • Monitor gross profit on all active construction projects
  • Update Construction Status Reports and provide weekly production updates to EVP
  • Manage Project Managers and Assistant Project managers
  • Manage construction schedules to ensure on-time deliveries
  • Assign PM / APM’s to all project signed by PC
  • Provide coaching and leadership to the project management team and in the field.
  • Evaluate project management. Perform written evaluations as appropriate and recommendations for their future development.
  • Identify potential recruits and make hiring recommendations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the project personnel training program
  • Quality assurance
  • Vendor Relations and evaluation of subcontractor performance
  • Project safety – ensuring safety protocols are being followed and directing health and safety officer to projects that need special attention
  • Staffing of safety personnel on all construction projects
  • Ensure Cotton and OSHA safety standards are being met on all projects
  • Visit each job site to review current construction
  • Review work in process to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, building codes, and company standards
  • Workflows and processes for day-to-day operations
  • Training plans, performance reviews and goals for operation’s staff
  • Development and review of scopes, budgets and site safety plans
  • Reviewing and Approving Contracts – vendors and suppliers
  • Project Production Review Weekly
  • Assignment of Operation staff for projects
  • Forecasting and Assisting with vendor and supplier payments
  • Conflict Resolution with staff, vendors and or clients
  • Assistance with vendor contracts
  • Customer service and warranty on construction projects
  • Permit and inspection issues

Basic & Essential Function of the Job:

  • Good driving record (for insurability purposes to drive a company vehicle and as a representative of the company).
  • Ability to get in and out and drive a vehicle for the majority of the workday; to and from appointments and office.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time (to complete paperwork as needed or manage a job while in the field)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a smoky environment
  • Ability to travel throughout the United States and potentially beyond the US borders for periods of time (to proactively chase, consult, market, secure business and satisfy project needs)
  • To work an on-call schedule, which may require late evenings, early mornings and weekends to include long extended hours without much notice

Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Degreed or equivalent work experience
  • Proven Management experience
  • Strong construction knowledge (Commercial/Industrial)
