Having represented Cotton as a client since 2005, Jeff Erler formally came aboard as General Counsel in 2016 before being promoted to Chief Legal Officer in 2022. Throughout his time with Cotton, he has been chiefly responsible for managing all of the legal affairs of the company and its affiliates including risk and litigation management, corporate governance and transactions.
Before his time at Cotton, Erler worked for a multitude of prestigious law firms in the Dallas/Fort Worth-area. He holds degrees from Texas A&M University and Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. Outside of his work with the company, he enjoys spending time with his wife of 20 years and three children. He’s an avid fitness enthusiast and spends much of his free time enjoying life on the lake and watersports with his family.
